Summer School Games 2016 - BGN was the most successful school at the County Finals!

At Blessed George Napier we enjoy specialist sports status. We enjoy excellent facilities including a 4 Badminton Court sized Sports Hall, a full sized Astro-Turf Hockey/Football Pitch and Netball Courts.  We also have ample field space and have 2 Rugby and 1 Football Pitches in the Winter and a full 400mtr Athletics Track, throwing areas, and Rounders pitches in the Summer. We also have a new all-weather Cricket Square and Long/Triple Jump pits. In the Summer term our astro area becomes 6 Tennis Courts.

We also access, for our students, local sporting facilities including tennis courts at Horton View and athletic track and field facilities at NOA.  We have a separate dance/fitness studio, ample changing rooms and storage areas!

We are a Lead Partner School of the Youth Sports Trust and, as such, have access to the very best support & training for both our students and teachers. Our innovative 'Leadership' programmes regularly sees many students gaining significant 'Sports Leadrs UK' qualifications and our young people regularly orgainse and lead events right through to County level.

We compete and put teams out in every district competition and our boys and girls enjoy great success! Our main competitive sports are Rugby, Football, Netball, Hockey, Rounders, Cross-Country & Athletics. The last few years our teams have enjoyed success at District, County and Regional levels. Please see our results tab for more details!

Our amazing recent success at both Level 2 (District) & Level 3 (County) Sainsbury's Schools Games events was recognised last Summer as we achieved 'Gold Mark'. However this award also recognises the sports participation percentage of  our pupils and the fact that we regularly fields 'A' 'B' and even 'C' teams certainly contributed to this achievement!
