10th September 2008

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Year 10 - An exciting year for pupils but also the beginning of GCSE courses and a great deal of hard work!

I would like to invite you to attend the Year 10 Expectations Evening on Tuesday 23 September at 6.45 pm.

This evening will allow you and your child to become more aware of what is expected of Year 10 pupils in terms of classwork, homework and coursework/portfolios. It will give you the opportunity to meet with subject staff, look at examples of previous pupils work and find out which revision aids are suggested by individual departments.

May I also take this opportunity to remind you that Year 10 pupils should, by now, have arranged their work experience placements. Forms to be completed about this placement will soon be sent home and should be returned to school by the end of September.

Each pupil is expected to write a CV and letter of application in preparation for their interview with members of the Banbury Rotary Club. Some time will be spent writing these in school however we would be grateful if you could discuss the importance of a good CV and application letter with your child.

I look forward to seeing you at the Expectations Evening.

Yours Sincerely
