

Mathematics is taught at Blessed George Napier School in such a way as to enable the pupils to develop mathematical skills and understanding, for adult life, for employment and for further study and training. Individual needs are considered and the aim of the schools Mission Statement is at the heart of the departments practice.

Department Expectations and Guidelines:
Remember the teacher is here to teach and pupils are here to learn.
Student Expectations:
All students are expected to come to a maths lesson equipped with pens, pencils, ruler, protractor and a calculator.
Exercise books and textbooks are expected to be brought to every lesson.
Pupils are expected to be polite, courteous and work in a purposeful quiet manner to achieve the target set by the member of staff.
Students are expected to remain in seats unless otherwise instructed; if help is needed they are expected to put up their hand.
Students should not need to go to the toilet during lesson time.
All pupils are to queue in an orderly fashion outside the classroom, or enter classrooms at the discretion of the member of staff.
