Key Stage 3

Pupils follow the National Curriculum and study mainly British History, beginning in Year 7 with Romans and the Middle Ages. In Year 8 we focus on Tudors and Stuarts and end the year with Black Peoples of the Americas. Year 9 pupils study the Industrial Revolution and the Twentieth Century World.

Key Stage 4

Pupils may opt to continue their studies. We follow the OCR Modern World History Syllabus 1937. The depth studies are Germany 1919 - 1945 and the USA 1919 - 1941 and coursework is completed in the spring and summer of Year 10.

Methods of teaching and learning vary a great deal. Our main aim is to help pupils learn about the past so that they develop a better understanding of the present and future.
