Medical Appointments - Attendance

At BGN we pride ourselves and the students on our good attendance record.

We understand that medical appointments are unavoidable, but we ask that where possible dental and doctor appointments are made outside of school hours, however, should you need to take your child out of school for such an appointment, they should come into school before and after the appointments where it is convenient to do so.  We do understand that sometimes it is unavoidable to make these outside of school hours and in some cases it is impossible for your child to get back into school.   

Please ensure that your child either brings a letter or a note in their planner advising of any such appointments. Alternatively, you can ring the Attendance Office on 01295 264216 ext 218.

Past records show a clear link between performance in national tests and regular attendance at school.

We would be grateful if you will bear this in mind when making dental check up appointment etc.
