Introduction to Sixth Form

INTRODUCTION:

We see Sixth Form students as young adults who can act as role models to younger pupils. Accordingly, we seek to develop each and every student by providing many opportunities for them to be leaders in our school community.

Our provision and policies at Key Stage 5 reflect our belief in young people. For example, we have “put our money where our mouth is” in thee facilities we offer our Post 16 students. The common room is relatively new and we have recently invested significantly in new equipment and furniture. The newly built Learning Resource Centre is situated next to the common room and provides perfect opportunity for students to work independently.

Due to the provision, status and opportunities we give our pupils, “students enjoy being in the Sixth Form”(Ofsted, 2006) and all pupils surveyed last year stated that they would advise other students to join.
