REMINDER: IMPORTANT FORTHCOMING DATES FOR YEAR 13 STUDENTS

I am writing to remind students and parents of some important events and arrangements as we approach the exam period and the end of the school year.

STUDY LEAVE
Study leave for students begins on Friday 1st June meaning the last formal school day for Year 13 is Thursday 31st May. From that point onwards, our senior students are only required in school at the request of their teachers (revision classes and any individual support offered) and to sit external examinations. They are not required to attend daily registration. Attendance of the revision classes is highly recommended as we have always found them to be great benefit to all students who attend.

DRESS IN THE WARM WEATHER
Whilst our students are in school, I would appreciate your support in ensuring that the dress of your child is appropriate for school. In the recent warm weather, there has been a trend to wear beach footwear and very short shorts. Whilst I have every sympathy with our students, they must remember they are role models at all times to younger pupils.

SIXTH FORM BALL
The Prom is at the Whately Hall Hotel on Thursday 19th July. A sit down meal will be served at 7pm for staff and Year 13 pupils only. Although students have told me they are coming, very few tickets have been sold. Unless enough tickets have been purchased by Friday 15th June, I would regretfully be forced to cancel the Prom.

LEAVERS MASS
To mark the end and celebrate their time in the Sixth Form, we invite all our Year 13 students to our annual Leavers Mass - this is always a lovely occasion which is followed by refreshments and a ‘digital yearbook’ in the LRC. This will take place on Friday 15th June beginning at 7pm. I would be very grateful if you could return reply slips and confirm your attendance as space in the chapel will be very tight.
