Year 12 - Higher Education Conference

HIGHER EDUCATION CONFERENCE  - MONDAY 26TH MARCH 2012

On Monday 26th March I have arranged for all Year 12 pupils to be excused from their normal timetabled lessons and attend a Higher Education Conference at the University of Reading. This is an annual event and perhaps the most significant and useful opportunity we provide our students in preparing them for their careers and life post Blessed George Napier.

The day will be split into two parts. Firstly, pupils will be given the opportunity to attend three different talks of their choosing. In these lectures experts will outline how to succeed in a variety of possible career options from Accounting & Finance to Nursing & Midwifery. Secondly, pupils will be able to speak to representatives from over 120 different Universities and Colleges from around the country.

I would like to stress that we will need to leave school no later than 8am to ensure we get to the venue in plenty of time. Your child will be able to purchase food and drinks however queues will be substantial. In order to get the most of the day, I would urge all pupils to bring with them a packed lunch. We aim to leave the University of Reading at 1.50pm to be back at school in time for pupils to catch their normal school buses.  The cost of the trip is £7.50, please return this sum together with the completed reply slip below for the attention of Miss Debbie Roberts by Monday 19th March 2012
